Abstract

Using various nuclei, observations were made on form ation of calculi. The resuls are summarized as follows. 1) In vitro expe r i ments proved to produce stones by dipping nuclei into urine. The nuclei dipped in urine of patients with urolithiasis crystallized salt more markedly than in urine of normal subjects. 2) In vivo s tudies of foreign body bladder stone showed that crystallization varied with nature of the used nuclei. Crystallization was hardly occured especially with siliconized nuclei. As sex difference, male animals produced larger and more crystalline calculi than females, of which cause was supposed to be attributed to anatomical difference the lower urinary tract. In addition, increase in urinary stream was proved to act as inhibition of calculus formation.
