腎性高血圧症に併発した赤血球増多症の1例

Abstract

The first report of a case of polycythemia associated with reno-vascular hypertension is presented. Moderate hypertension, hematuria and polycythemia were found in a 33 years old male whose left renal artery branch was obstructed. Although bioassay of erythropoietin was not conclusive, polycythemia vera and other disorders causing polycythemia were excluded in this case, and polycythemia of renal origin was suspected. (renal ischemia-erythropoietin production-polycythemia) Hypertension was also due to renal ischemia, i. e . release of renin from the ischemic kidney resulted in hypertension through Goldblatt mechanism.
