Serum activities of LDH, ALP, LAP and ACP and serum L DH isozymes were determined in patients with various urological neoplasms examined at the Department of Urology of Hiroshima University Hospital, and the results were analysed in relation to the serum values of TP, A/G ratio, creatinine, GOT and GPT. (1) A high LDH activity w as observed in patients with neoplasms. In particular, the more elevation was seen in accordance with the progress of diseases. An inverse correlation was recognized between LDH activity and serum GPT and total cholesterol values. (2) LDH isozyme pattern demonstrated an increase of the M type in patients with neoplasms. This became especially distinct in advanced cases. The III fraction showed no definite trend unless the disease progressed considerably. (3) ALP activity did not show c lear difference between patients with neoplasm and normal persons, but it became lower with malignant transformation in many cases. (4) A low LAP activity was observed in many patients with ren a l or bladder neoplasms. Progress of diseases made the activity further decreased. No correlation was seen between LAP and BUN. (5) ACP activity showed high values in many cases of cancer of the prostatic gland and neoplasms of the bladder without any correlation to BUN value.en
