|Abstract:||We report a case of prostatic malacoplakia clinically diagnosed as prostatic cancer. A 65-year-old man was seen with increased urinary frequency, and urinalysis disclosed moderate pyuria. After the administration of antibiotics for several days, the urine was sterile and the symptoms disappeared, but findings of digital examination of the prostate were compatible with prostatic cancer. Transperineal needle biopsy of the prostate was reported as poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma on the piece from the left lobe. Following further evaluation, the patient underwent radical prostatectomy under the preoperative diagnosis of stage B1 prostatic cancer. However, histological diagnosis of the surgical specimen was malacoplakia of the prostate.|
