精索転移をきたした腎癌の1例

Abstract

The patient was a 54-year-old man with a hard nodule (25 x 15 mm) in his left scrotum. His left spermatic vein had been ligated 6 months earlier because of a varicocele. Preoperative diagnosis was left renal tumor with multiple lung metastasis. The intrascrotal nodule was considered to be a metastatic tumor from renal cell carcinoma. Left nephrectomy was performed and the metastatic lesion of spermatic cord was also removed. Pathological examination showed that the left renal tumor was renal cell carcinoma (clear cell type). The spermatic cord nodule was tumor embolus in dilated veins and consisted of the same clear cells as renal cell carcinoma. Judging from these results, in this case renal cell carcinoma retrogradely metastasized through the spermatic vein to the intrascrotal lesion.
