30W/V%Conray(300ml vial)によるcontinuous infusion urography (コンレイ400(特集))

Abstract

Continuous infusion urography (CIU) with a 300 ml vial of 30 w /v % Conray was applied to 43 patients with urological or other diseases. The procedure was done under the continuous intravenous infusion of 4 ml/kg b. w. for 8 to 15 minutes. The radiograms were taken at 7, 15 and 30 minutes after the initiation of intravenous injection. In several cases with urinary tract obstruction or impaired renal function the exposures were extended to one and two hours; and valuable informations were obtained. The advantages of CIU were as follows. 1) The outline of the entire urinary tract was densely and clearly visualized. 2) Retrograde pyelography was, therefore, not necessary in a few cases. 3) Whenever retrograde pyelography is impossible mainly due to obstructed ureter, CIU can be quite valuable for urological diagnostics. 4) No severe side effect was seen. It was confirmed that CIU is informative on the patients with urinary tract lesions such as small ureteral stone, ureteral tumor and post-hysterectomy ureteral obstruction. A 300 ml vial of Conray was also found to be useful.
