点滴腎盂撮影(DIP)

Abstract

The value of drip infusion pyelography was discussed on the basis of fifty-two examinations done at the Department of Urology of Nagoya University Hospital in 1968. Opacification could be obtained in non-visualizing kidneys due to obstructive uropathy and reduced renal function using drip infusion of large dose of contrast dye on hydrated condition. The x-ray exposure should be extended over thirty minutes after starting dye injection on such cases. The continuous drip infusion of diluted contrast dye could intensify the visualization of ureter and ureteral orifice in the cases of lower urinary tract obstruction even within thirty minutes after starting injection. No significant side effect was observed in this series with large dose of meglumin diatrizoate.
