Soluble extracts were obtained from bladder carcinoma tissue treated with a 3M KCI solution and prepared as a tumor associated antigen for the study of specific S.L Twenty eight bladder carcinoma patients and 10 control subjects were selected for the study. The response was the strongest in the low stage group followed by the low grade group. The high stage group gave the lowest response. The change in specific S.I. suggested that the response starts to decrease one month after surgery in the cases of radical surgery and tends to disappear approximately after 6 months. But, in the cases where radical surgery could not be performed, the response tended to increase from 3 to 6 months after surgery. Since this method does not require high skill, it may be clinically valuable after improvement of the antigen preparation method.
