| dc.description.abstract | A pure progestogen, SH 582, was used in 27 cases of prostatic hypertrophy. Nine cases had a very good response, 14 cases a good response, and 4 cases no response to treatment. The efficacy rate was 85.2 %. SH582 was especially effective for residual urine as well as for subjective symptoms such as frequent micturition and dysuria. Urethrography and cystoscopy revealed evidence of improvement in 45.0 % and 47.6 % respectively. There were no remarkable side-effects except mild palpitation in only one case. | en |
