抄録: | Considering the great increase of the recent traffic accidents, we made a statistical survey on the traffic injuries with emphasis on those of the urogenital tracts. It is based on the cases which were compiled by the various hospitals in all parts of the country over the period of five years up to the end of 1967. The total of the cases amounted to 212, including five cases of our own department. The summary of the survey is as follows. 1. Pedestrians were the most frequent victims of the traffic accidents (51.4 %). 2. Most accidents were caused by vehicles in motion (85.2 %). 3. Urethral injuries stood first among the traffic injuries found in the urogenital organ (61.8 %), and renal injuries second (19.3 %). 4. The chief complaints were as follows; dysuria (26.1 %), hematuria (18.5 %) and urinary retention (12.5 %). 5. Fractures of bones ranked first among the complications. Fractures of the pelvis were observed in about the three quarters of all the injuries in the lower urinary tract. |
