異所性陰嚢分離症

Abstract

A 4-year-old-boy, was admitted because of the abnormal scrotum. The right half of the scrotum with its contents was located at the right inguinal region. This ectopically separated scrotum looked like "prepenial scrotum" or "bifid scrotum" in the previous literatures. The embryological genesis of this malformation might be considered the same as prepenial scrotum except unilateral occurrence. We suppose that the cause of this ectopic malformation depends upon not only abnormal development of embryonal genital tubercle and urogenital sinus but also some other biological factors. Up to today, only 4 cases of the ectopic ally separated cases were reported. In Japan our case is the first one.
