慢性前立腺炎に対するParaprostの臨床応用

Abstract

Fifteen patients with chronic prostatitis complaining of dysuria and feeling of residual urine were treated by administration of Paraprost, 6 capsules per day, for 56.2 days in average. Sulfa drug was given only when pus cells were found in urinalysis after massage of the prostate. The following results were obtained. 1) Dysuria improved in 92.3%, whereas feeling of residual urine disappeared in 60%. 2) Improvement of palpatory findings of the prostate was achieved in 73.3%. Three cases having actual residual urine more than 20 ml showed remarkable decrease. 3) Evaluation of entire cases was made as follows: excellent in 3 (20%), effective in 6 (40%), fair in 4 (26.7%) and non-effective in 2 (13.3%). 4) No side effect was seen at all. The above results suggest us that a combined use of Paraprost with antibiotic should be worthy trying for intractable chronic prostatitis complaining dysuria.
