陰嚢癌の1例

Abstract

Carcinoma of the scrotum seen in a 41-year-old unmarried man was described. The patient, who had worked for about 20 years dealing with mineral oil to prevent rust, complained of the tumor on the left side of the scrotum since about half a year, but painless. Under spinal anesthesia, resection of the scrotum with bilateral high orchiectomy was performed. The removed specimen, sized 3×2.5×2.5 cm, and histological finding showed squamous cell carcinoma. He has been doing quite well without any clinical evidence of recurrence or generalization of the tumor. Since Pott(1775) described carcinoma of the scrotum occurring among chimney sweeps, this disease is not so rare in England now, whearas in Japan only 33 cases have been reported up to date including 5 occupational cancers.
