| Abstract: | Fifteen cases of benign prostatic hypertrophy were treated with allylestrenol (Gestanon) daily for 3 months to 4 and half months. Its clinical evaluation was made by means of urofiometry, measurement of residual urine, rectal examination, cystourethrogram and observation of subjective symptoms. 1) Of 15 cases, 10 responded well, 3 unchanged, 2 none. 2) More than 10 cases showed decrease of residual urine and improvement in subjective symptoms. 3) Any detectable side-effect was not noted. |
