膀胱後部肉腫(横紋筋肉腫)の1例

Abstract

A 20-year-old student visited our clinic on July 28, 1977, with complaints of fever (38.3°C), lower abdominal pain and micturition pain. On physical examination a hard, tender mass of child's head size was palpable in the lower abdominal region. The prostate and the seminal vesicles were normal on rectal examination. Retrovesical tumor was suggested after the examinations such as cystoscopy, intravenous pyelography, cystography, pelvic angiography and barium enema, etc. Exploratory laparotomy was made and the histological diagnosis of the tumor was rhabdomyosarcoma. Thereafter, chemotherapy was performed, but the patient died of cachexia 2 months after the operation. Thirty-seven cases of retrovesical sarcoma collected from the recent Japanese literature were reviewed and discussed.
