セラチア尿路感染症に対するピペラシリンの使用経験

Abstract

Piperacillin (PIPC) was used for the treatment of urinary tract infections due to Serratia marcescens and the following results were obtained. 1) There was a close relationship between infection of Serratia marcescens and presence of an indwelling catheter at the time of treatment. 2) Bacteriological effectiveness with PIPC classified by daily dosage were evaluated as follows; in the group of 4 g per day, excellent in 6 strains, good in 8 strains and poor in 3 strains and the efficacy was 82%. In the group of6 g per day, excellent in 3, good in 4 and poor in 4, and it was 64%, and in 8 g daily dose, excellent in 2, good in 5 and poor in 3, and the efficacy was 70%. The overall efficacy was 74%. 3) Bacteriological effectiveness of Gentamicin with daily dose of 80-120 mg was excellent in 9 strains, good in 4 strains and poor in 6 strains, and the efficacy was 68%. 4) No remarkable side effect was observed in any case.
