人間ドックから見た前立腺肥大症

Abstract

Prostatic hyperplasia detected on the health examination was surveyed as to its incidence of age groups and its symptomatological characteristics. The symptoms were checked as to age and size of adenoma. Associated urinary tract infection, residual urine volume and state of renal function were also reviewed. The visitors to the health examination are anyway the healthy people and differ from the patients who actively visit the hospital with complaints. Namely, striking urinary tract infections were few, the residual urine volume was small, and renal function impairment was not obvious. Management of these cases with prostatic hyporplasia should be primarily conservative, in stead of immediate surgery, taking care for the appearance of secondary diseases caused by adenoma of the prostate.
