尿路感染症に対するcarbenicllin indanyl sodiumの臨床経験 - とくに緑膿菌,変形菌感染症について-

Abstract

1. Analysis of urinary bacterial isolates from patients with urinary tract infections treated at the Department of Urology, Faculty of Medicine, Tottori University revealed that the frequency of Pseudomonas aeruginosa among total isolates decreased from 31.4% in 1972 to 12.2% in 1976 and that of Proteus from 12.5% in 1972 to 7.8% in 1976. 2. Carbenicillin indany1 sodium was orally given at daily doses of 1.0-3.0 grams for urinary tract infections. Eight (57.1 %) of 14 patients with the infections due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 3 (50.0%) of 6 patients due to Proteus showed favorable responses to the antibiotic therapy judging from symptoms and leukocyte and bacterial counts in urine. 3. The only side effects were gastrointestinal disturbances in 2 cases. Some patients complained of unpleasant odor of the drug. Discontinuance of the therapy was not necessitated in any patient.
