副睾丸平滑筋腫の1例

Abstract

Tumors of the epididymis are considered relatively rare. We experienced a case of a leiomyoma of epididymis seen in a 39-year-old man. The tumor measured 8.3×5.6×5.4 cm, weighed 258 g. Leiomyoma of the left epididymis was verified by light microscopic and electric microscopic findings. The patient did not show history of inflammation trauma of the organ. Pathogenesis of this tumor is considered to be of blastogenic nature by histological examination in our study. 153 cases of primary tumors of the epididymis in Japan were collected including our case. Of them, 34 cases (22.2%) were malignant, 119 cases (77.8%) were benign. 37 cases (31.2%) of benign tumors were leiomyoma. We report this case together with a review of the reported cases in Japanese literature.
