骨盤腔放射線照射療法後に発生した膀胱原発生上皮性腫瘍の2例

Abstract

Two cases of primary carcinoma of the bladder which developed after radiation therapy for pelvic malignancy were presented. Case 1. A 58-year-old woman was found to have radiation cystitis on cystoscopy 5 months after completion of postoperative irradiation of cobalt-60 for metastatic inguinal lesion from ano-rectal cancer. One year and four months after irradiation, the patient was found having developed a tumor at the same site which was proved to be transitional cell carcinoma on biopsy. Case 2. 52-year-old woman had radical hysterectomy followed by irradiation of cobalt-60 at her age of 37. She developed bladder tumor at 49 and 52. The tumor of this time was located at the dome of the bladder and partial cystectomy could be performed. It was squamous cell carcinoma. Pathogenesis of these two primary epithelial tumors of the bladder was discussed. Radiation cystitis and squamous metaplasia should be considered as preparing lesions for malignancies.
