睾丸腫瘍に対する多剤併用化学療法の試み

Abstract

1) The Bleomycin-vincristine-actinomycin (BVA) therapy of Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group was attempted in 2 cases of stage III nonseminomatous tumor, and complete response was shown in one case and no response in another case. For the latter case, a concentration therapy of BVA resulted in 50 percent reduction of tumor mass. 2) Steroid administration and the alimentation via the central vein were mandatory during the therapy in order to minimaize the side effects and to enhance of the therapeutic effects in the concentration therapy of multiple anticancer drugs. 3) Levels of two tumor markers, a-fetoprotein and β-HCG, did not always move in accordance, and also did not coincide with shrinkage of mass on X-ray films. Therefore periodic determinations of both a-fetoprotein and β-HCG levels were significant to check the clinical situation of the tumor. For the clinical evaluation of the patients, determination of both markers according to time Course seems to be quite significant.
