精索横紋筋肉腫の1例

Abstract

A 5-year-old boy was admitted because of a painless mass in the right inguinal region. The tumor was resected on Dec. 6, 1976 under the diagnosis of a tumor of the right spermatic cord. The removed tumor weighed 6 grams and its size was 4×3×2 cm. Pathohistological study of the tumor revealed pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma. On Dec. 17 of the same year, high orchiectomy with retroperitoneal lymph node dissection was done. Postoperatively, chemotherapy with vincristine (0.5 mg/wk, i.v.) and cyclophosphamide (50 mg/day, p.o.) was commenced. One month later, it was discontinued because of untoward reaction. One week later, however, cyclophosphamide was restarted and has been continued. There is no sign of recurrence or metastasis and the patient is doing fine three years and one month postoperatively.
