遠隔転移を有する腎細胞癌の治療成績

Abstract

Of the 56 patients with renal cell carcinoma treated at our center between January 1964 and August 1980, the clinical results of 12 cases of stage IV disease are reviewed. One-, two- and three-year actuarial survival rates for the stage IV diseases were 31 %, 16.5% and 0%, respectively. The frequent sites of metastases were lung (9 patients, 75%) and bone (3 patients, 25%). As treatment of primary lesions nephrectomy was done in 11 patients and combined chemotherapy was given to 1 patient. In two cases, pulmonary and skeletal metastases were excised. A gestational agent (medroxy progesterone) was used in 5 cases of lung metastases. No apparently abnormal shadow was seen in the chest X-rays of 2 of these cases. Immunotherapy has not exhibited any effect to date.
