抄録: | The following results were obtained from the statistic studies and drug sensitivity tests of bacterial florae isolated from the urinary tract in 1979 and 19S0. Of the 2942 bacterial strains isolated, S04 (27.3%) were gram-positive cocci. Of the 212S strains isolated from out-patients, 25.2% were E. coli, 13.3% were Enterococci, 1l.S % were Proteus spp., 7.2 % were P. aeruginosa, 6.9 % were K. pneumoniae, 5.8 % were S. epidermidis and the rest were others. Of the 814 strains isolated from hospitalized patients, 16.7 % were Enterococci, 12.6 % were Proteus spp., 11.7% were E. coli, 11.4% were P. aeruginosa, 10.3 % were K. pneumoniae, 8.8 % were S. epidermidis and the rest were others. The number of Proteus spp., P. aeruginosa, non-fermentative gram-negative bacilli detected in the isolates from the out-patients and that of E. coli, K. pneumoniae, Enterococci detected in the isolates from the in-patients were higher than in previous years. The major isolates, i.e., 9 species, from out-patients were more susceptible to the antimicrobial agents tested, except that nalidixic acid was more effective against the isolates from in-patients. During the past two years, we have been routinely using so called 3rd generation cefem antibiotics to treat urinary tract infections. This might be why the number of isolates of Serratia was only 2.5% of the total isolates which is relatively lower than at other hospitals, and the susceptibility of isolated Serratia in the disk-sensitivity test was also slightly higher. |
