RIA法における血清中の前立腺性酸性ホスファターゼの検討 第1報：基礎的検討と正常値について

Abstract

A new radioimmunoassay kit (GammaDab PAP kit) was evaluated. Result of precision and accuracy tests was satisfactory. In the clinical phase, serum PAP level was measured in the serum obtained from 22 patients with treated and untreated prostatic cancer, 20 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, 20 patients with other urological diseases, 114 patients with other nonurological diseases and 45 volunteers of healthy males and females. Normal serum PAP levels of healthy males seem to be 0.85±0.285 ng/ml in our assay. In 7 cases of advanced prostatic cancer (32%) serum PAP level was elevated over 5.0 ng/ml and nonprostatic cancer did not exceed this level. From this result, it may be concluded that if serum PAP level is higher than 5.0 ng/ml, prostatic cancer at least advanced is strongly suspected, and its prognostic usefulness in prostatic cancer may be expected. As conclusion the method of radioimmunoassay for measurement of PAP is much more reliable than enzymatic assay and may be suitable for clinical application in the diagnosis of prostatic cancer.
