近世の紀行文にみる嵯峨野における風景の重層性に関する研究

Abstract

本研究は，近世の嵯峨野を対象として，紀行文中の風景記述の分析を通じて，1) 鑑賞対象，2) 風景鑑賞時に主体に想起されている過去の風景表現やイメージ，3) 主体の態度や行為，得た印象，を把握することで，嵯峨野における風景鑑賞のあり方を明らかにすることを目的としている．具体的には，眺望や神社仏閣のほか，歌枕・四季の名所の風景，物語・故事の風景，遊びなどの様々な風景記述ごとについて，イメージの追体験，視覚的風景の観賞などの風景鑑賞のあり方とその特徴を示した．その結果，近世の嵯峨野において，地形条件等による景観の多様性と，多様な風景のイメージに合致した景観の状態，さらには多様な風景鑑賞のあり方によって，様々な風景が重層的に生まれていたことを示した．

This paper discusses the wide variety of ways of appreciating the scenery of Sagano, by analyzing descriptions of travelogues during Edo era. Firstly, we understand what travelogue writers saw and thought, and behaved in Sagano. Secondly, we examine the ways of appreciating the scenery -the scenery of famous places for poetic and literary sites, the prospect, the pleasure, the scenery of temples and shrines-, and explain the diversity of appreciating the scenery as enjoying the visual landscape, reliving historical and literary images, behaving like a mountain hermits, and so on. Finally, we consider the scenic diversity of Sagano was caused not only by the variety of the physical environment, but the variety of ways of appreciating the scenery, and the status of the actual visual landscape which corresponds with the historical and literary images.
