排尿障害に関する臨床的研究 第3報 : 尿道内圧記録のさいの媒体としての水と炭酸ガスの比較検討

Abstract

We compared urethral pressure profiles (UPP) of lower urinary tract disorder recorded using CO2 and water media. The patients in the present study included 9 males and 13 females with neurogenic bladders, 9 males with benign prostatic hypertrophy before treatment and 10 females with stress incontinence. Nine healthy individuals consisting of 4 males and 5 females served as the control. The flow rate was constantly 40 ml per min for gas and 2 ml per min for water. Indexes of UPP used for the comparison were functional urethral length, continence zone, maximum urethral closure pressure and maxim.um urethral pressure. No significant differences could be found between each pair of indexes calculated from UPP obtained by using CO2 or water as a medium at least for the disorders examined in the present study.
