dc.description.abstract | The behavior of the flood flow in a river is very complex because of the effects of various kinds of boundary or channel conditions. To clarify these effects on the flood a series of experiments were conducted in a flume (150m in length, 60cm in width and in depth) at the downstream end of which a few kinds of boundary condition were set. By means of these experiments and appropriate theoretical considerations authors have been able to discuss the characteristics of flood flow under the following boundary conditions : a) at x→∞, h→0 b) at x=l, h=0 c) at x=l, h=h(q) d) at x=l, h=h(t) where x is distance, t time, h the water depth measured above the stage of steady base flow, q the discharge per unit width, and h(q), h(t) are the given single valued functions of q and t respectively. | en |
