大陸河川の水質指標策定に関する研究 -ライン川を対象として-

Abstract

国境をまたぐ大陸河川が地球上には数多く存在するが、それぞれの国によって異なった水質項目や観測手法を用いているために同一流域における水質状況を単純に比較することは困難である。特定の測定可能な水質項目を元に算出された統一指標を用いて水質を客観的かつ同一基準で比較ができれば、より効率的な河川管理政策を行うことが期待できる。現在、国連環境計画地球監視システム淡水部門(GEMS/Water)では地球規模で適用可能な統一水質指標(WQI)の開発が試みられている。本研究では、水質が大幅に改善されたとされるライン川流域に対してWQIを適用し、上流・中流・下流の水質比較をWQIで行いその利点や問題点について言及し、算出に用いた水質項目を個別に削除した際のWQIの感度変化を調べ今後の全球統一指標開発へとつなげる。

A composite index is developed to assess source water quality at global scale. In this study we have testified application of WQ indices developed by GEMS/Water Program. The approach for development was three-fold: (1) to select guidelines from the World Health Organization that are appropriate in assessing global water quality for human health, (2) to select variables that have an appropriate guideline and reasonable global coverage, and (3) to determine, on an annual basis .The developed index includes frequency and extent to which variables exceeded their respective WHO guidelines, at each individual monitoring station.
