図書館の検索インターフェースとユーザ支援技術

Abstract

図書館が扱う学術情報は，電子ジャーナルやデータベース，学術情報リポジトリの例に見られるように，電子化が進み，ユーザはこれらの電子リソースにWebを通じてアクセスすることが主流になった。多様な携帯デバイスを用いた電子書籍の利用もこれからますます増加していく。一方，図書館の外のWebの世界では，GoogleやAmazonなどが検索の周辺技術を進化させ，ユーザがリソースを利用するための，より利便性の高い検索とインターフェースを提供しており，そのようなWebの環境に慣れ親しんだユーザの期待と図書館の提供するソリューションにはギャップがあった。しかしながら，ようやく図書館のサービスにもこのような最新のユーザ利用支援技術の実装が進んできている。本稿は，図書館で実践が行われつつある様々なユーザ支援技術として，ディスカバリ・インターフェースとWebスケール・ディスカバリ・サービスを基点として，シラバス連携などのサービスを紹介する。また，現在国内の多くの図書館が抱えているWeb技術適用に関する課題として，システム調達と人材開発における問題点を指摘し，持続可能な発展という観点から，その打開策を探る。最後に，図書館がWeb技術を身につけた上で，今後どのような役割を担うことができるのか，一つの方向性を提示する。

It has become common for library users to access to electronic resources which libraries provide via the Internet, such as electronic journals, databases and institutional repositories. Usage of e-book on diverse mobile devices may increase more than ever. As Google and Amazon provide advanced search technologies and interfaces to give users a better findability and accessibility, there has been a gap between library solutions and expectations from users, who are familiar with such Web environment. However, the implementation of advanced Web technologies into library services has been promoted these days. This article, at first, introduces such user support technologies as discovery interface, Web-scale discovery and cooperation with Learning Management Service. Secondly, we discuss a common issue shared with libraries in Japan, lying in the system procurement and human resource development, from the point of view of sustainable evolution. At last, we propose a new role of libraries beyond implementation of the Web technologies.
