抄録: | Bronze inscriptions of the Western Zhou dealing with land such as the various vessels by Qiu Wei 裘衛, Peng Sheng Gui 倗生簋, Da Gui 大簋, San Shi Pan 散氏盤, etc. are basically documents consisting of the date, the reason for land transfer the boundaries of land, the establishment of them by the enfeofifing side, and the specific rituals and the casting of the vessel by the feoffee. These inscriptions show the whole organization of land transfer. The structure of rulership and administration of the enfeoffed territory can be seen in the organization of the enfeoffing side, who undertook the establishment of the boundaries of land. For example, it is quite clear in the inscription on the Wu-si-Wei Ding 五祀衛鼎 that tian 田, the land, was under immediate administrative management of the enfeoffing side. On the other hand. according to the Jiu-nian-Wei Ding 九年衛鼎 it is obvious that li 里 was a land with a stratified structure of administration and rulership. The land described in the inscription of San Shi Pan was a combination of these two types. The territory mentioned here. Mei-jingyi-tian 眉井邑田, had possibly suffered a destruction of the cooperative management system of yi 邑 and gradually deteriorated to a tian 田. |
