匈奴の若干の地名について

Abstract

People insist variously that the Xiongnu race belongs to the Turkish racial family or the Mongolian racial family or the Aryan racial family etc. However, I believe that they belong to the Mongolian racial family. Recorded in the Shin 史記 and the Hanshu 漢書 are some placenames that were used in the Qing period and which also appear on contemporary maps. Interpreted in Mongolian, these names are as follows: 1. Tian-yan-shan 窴顔山 = Ataɣa yin dabaɣa. Zhao-xin-cheng 趙信城 = near Ataɣa ɣoul or Ulanbatur. 2. Gu-ju-shui 姑苴水 = Tui yin ɣoul. 3. Jun-qi-shan 浚稽山 = Yeke boɣda aɣula and Baɣa boɣda aɣula which are to the north of Ju-yan-hai 居延海. 4. Zhui-ya-shan 涿邪山 = Tost aɣula, which is north of Ju-yan-hai and south of Jun-qi-shan. 5. Qi-luo-shan 稽落山 = Gkirtu boro aɣula = Jin-wei-shan 金微山. Si-qu-bi-di-hai 私渠比鞮海 = Sirɣul belciger. Hei-shan 黒山 = Qaraɣcin aɣula, which is north of Koke qota. Da-e-shan 大峨山 = Daɣaɣan del aɣula, which is north of Ulad emune qosiɣun 烏拉特前旗. Ruo-luo-shui 弱洛水 = Sira ulaɣan ɣoul, which is the riverhead of the Toɣula river. Li-shui 栗水 = Onggin ɣoul. Tu-yuan-shui 兔園水 = Tui yin ɣoul. 6. Yan-ran-shan 燕然山 = Tngri ejen aɣula = Qangɣai aɣula. 7. Xiong-nu-he-shui 匈奴河水 = Onggin ɣoul. Xi-hai 西海 = Oroɣ naɣur. Fu-ju-jing 浮苴井 = Zha-ge-su-zhi-jing 扎格蘇治井(?).
