北朝隋唐時代における漢族士大夫の敎育構造

Abstract

The theme of this article is how the children of the shidafu were educated in the ages of Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang. National schools whose function were sometimes suspended, and private ones, were not the only places they depended upon for the education of their children. But it was rather their home which played the central role for this purpose--not only their kin but their matrimonial relatives as well, sometimes contributed to the practice. There were also cases where women who had received education at their own home devoted themselves to education in the families they married into. It can thus be concluded that without solidarity among the kin and cooperation from the matrimonial relatives, the shidafu could not have handed down scholarly knowledge to their descendents.
