中國古代における鐡製農具の生産と流通

Abstract

In this article, I examine the state of production and circulation of iron farm implements in the former imperial era with supposing that there would have been some change between the period from the Warring States down to Former Han and that from Later Han onward. Then the conclusion is as follows. In the Warring States and the Former Han period, they could not produce iron farm implements in villages and depended on other regions entirely for supply of them, because production of them was limited to regions rich in mineral deposits. On the other hand, since the Later Han period they came to produce farm implements at the level of general villages which were not rich in mineral deposits, because of such overall development of division of labor as the production of iron wares separated from mining and iron manufacturing in the regions rich in mineral deposits through the circulation of ingot. This change of the structure of production and circulation of iron farm implements also had great influence on society and state control.
