In the course of my researches on the Nephthyid corals of Japan, four species belonging to EunePhthya, which is commonly known as a boreal genus, came to my hand. Among the materials, two species E. spiculosa KUKENTHAL and E. hirotai n. sp. were taken from the Sagami Bay and are now deposited -in the museum of the Zoological Institute of the Tokyo University. The remaining two, E. serratospiculata n. sp. and E. bicolor n. sp. are from the Kii region, and are now preserved in our Laboratory Before going further, I express my cordial thanks to Prof. K. TAKEWAKI of the Tokyo University for providing me with the material. A part of the expense in this study has been defrayed from the research fund supplied by the Ministry of Education.en
