19世紀末フランスにおける家庭教育像 --週刊誌『ラ・ファミーユ』の考察を中心に--

Abstract

本稿は, 公教育体制が成立た19世紀末フランスの家庭教育像を, 週刊誌『ラ・ファミーユ』La Famille (1879-1921) を手がかりとして考察するものである. 『ラ・ファミーユ』共和主義に親和的な立場をとる中間階層をターゲットとした家族向け雑誌であり, 多数の人々に読まれていたことが想定できる. そこでは, 情愛あふれるあたたかな家庭空間で, 母親が情操豊かに我が子を背てるという家庭教育イメージが表された. こうしたイメージが雑誌メディアを通じて量産されたことは, 家賠教育が, 母親の愛情によって特徴づけられる, 学校教育とは分化した教育形態として, 人々の間に浸透しつつあったことを示唆していると言える.

This article mentions the image of family education in France at the end of the nineteenth century based on the analysis of weekly magazine La Famille (1879-1921). At the time of the publishing also was the official education system established in France. La Famille was a popular family magazine and the target reader was the middle class who were familiar with Republican ideology. It represented an image that mother would bring up her children in a warm and loving home atmosphere. The mass-production of the magazine indicates the spread of family education which is characterized by mother love, and it is independent from school education.
