戦争の「事後」を考える : 東京市忠霊塔のゆくえ

Abstract

本稿は日中戦争以降，戦没兵士の集合的な納骨施設かつ巨大な構築物として計画・建設が進められた本土各地の「忠霊塔」のうち，首都に設置された「東京市忠霊塔」を，1 外地忠霊塔との関係，2 東京という政治都市に設置されたことの意味を明らかにする。特に本稿の方法の特徴は，米軍占領期とその史料に言及したことで，戦後の忠霊塔を占領軍の政治文化として議論した点である。戦時下の帝都空間でシンボリックに扱われた戦争シンボルが，戦争末期にどのような状況下にあったか，他方，戦争の事後の社会のなかでどのような意味転換を果たすのか，その過程を歴史学研究の手法を通じて明らかにし，戦争記憶を読み解こうとする試みである。

In this research, the Chureito of Tokyo City is main issue. Recently in contemporary Japanese history, Chureitou is known as Japanese type great no killed soldier's grave on the period from Sino-Japanese war to Asia-Pacific War. In this research Chureitou as the war symbol was symbolically treated by the emperor capital space under the war. In addition, it is demonstration to change in the remark theory in a society of as the war after in Occupied Japan. It is a new attempt to read the war memory and to solve.
