Abstract

In order to make clear the process of tractor logging in forest, we studied it logically. The operation of tractor logging is divided into the hauling and returning procedures, each procedure consisting of the following series. 1. Hauling procedure. [Table omitted] 2. Returning procedure. [Table omitted] notice, n : the number of log in hauling. x. : yarding time per log. lc : distance between the yarded log and the sulky. vc : speed of winch rope. ld : hauling distance. vTo : the limited speed in hauling. l'd : returning distance. v'To : the limited speed in returning. l'c : distance between the sulky and log. If TA is the total time of a process, TA is calculated by the next equation.
