抄録: We have examined the effects of ammonium sulphate, ammonium chloride, ammonium nitrate, calcium nitrogen, urea, night soil, barnyard manure and solid fertilizer on the bamboo (Phyllostachys reticulata) growth. The experimental plan was shown in Table 2, and carried out to duplicate treatment in same fertilizer. The results were shown in Table 3-8, and in Fig.1-4. The outline of this results is as follows: … 1. The number of new culms was much incresed by fertilization. This phenomenon of the ammonium chloride plot was especially most remarkable compared with the other plots. 2. Diameter of new culms was also increased by fertilizing, but its diameter increment ratio was not so much as the number increment ratio in all the plots. This diameter increment ratio was remarkable in the plot supplied with the solid fertilizer. 3. Length increment of new culms was about the same as the tendency of the diameter increment. 4. The production of new culms was increased by fertilization. The order of production in the fresh matter weight were as follows, the solid fertilizer plot is the most, and is the urea plot, the ammonium chloride plot, the calcium nitrogen plot, the ammonium nitrate plot, the ammonium sulphate plot, the barnyard manure plot, the night soil plot and the non fertilizer plot. But the production of new culms in the non nitrogen plot was a little lower than the non fertilizer plot. The production of the solid fertilizer plot was actually 16 times as much as in the non fertilizer plot, even in the night soil plot was 6 times as much as in the non fertilizer plot. 5. The quality of new culms were improved by fertilization. 6. On the rhizome growth, the effect of fertilization was appeared to 6-8m from the fertilized place. From the results of this experiment, it is found that nitrogen is very important element to the growth of bamboo, becouse all the nitrogen-supplied-plots was superier for the production of new culm, but there are no clear difference among the effect of each fertilizer, therfore it was difficult to decide what kind of nitrogenous fertilizer was excellent on the bamboo growth.
