ナギ林のリターフォール量

Abstract

奈良・御蓋山のナギ林のリターフォール量を1975年, 1976年の2年間調べた。1975年のリターフォール量はhaあたり5, 016kg, ナギのリターが4, 191kg, その他の樹木のリターが609kg, 1976年は4, 801kg, ナギのリターが4, 023kg, ナギ以外のその他の樹木のリターが598kgであった。虫体および虫糞の落下量は1975年でhaあたり12. 7kg, 106. 4kg, 1976年は7. 8kgと68. 7kgという大きな値を示した。種子の落下量は1975年にはhaあたり99. 8kg, 1976年には626. 2kgと6倍もの値になり, 種子のリターフォール量に占める割合も, 2. 0％から13. 0％になり, 雄花も0. 9％から7. 5％に増加した。種子は直径10m以上になるとほぼ充実しているが, 1975年の充実種子の生産量はhaあたり6. 2万個, 1976年は39. 1万個と, 重量と同様, 6倍のちがいがあった。また, 種子の直径, 個体重の増加およびそれら種子の樹上の残存率を図示した。このリターフォールによって, 林地に供給される養分量は1975年でhaあたり窒素63. 1kg, リン6. 4kg, カリウム16. 5ka, カルシウム134. 6kg, マグネシウム6. 4kg, 1976年には窒素62. 3kg, リン6. 5kg, カリウム19. 8kg, カルシウム61. 7kg, マグネシウム6. 2kgとなった。

Annual litter fall was estimated in a natural Nagi (Decussocarpus nagi) stand in Nara for two years, 1975 and 1976. For the estimation of litter fall, five litter traps (1 m × 1 m) were established and litter fall was collected every month. The litter samples were sorted into leaf, branch, bark, seed, male flower of Nagi and that of other trees except Nagi, and insect residue, insect fece, mammal fece and unidentified materials. Annual litter fall in the two years are estimated at 5, 016 d. w. kg

ha in 1975 and 4, 801 kg

ha in 1976, respectively. (Tab. 2, Fig. 1) The amounts of insect residue and insect fece are estimated at 12.7 kg/ ha, 106.4 kg

ha in 1975, and 7.8 kg

ha, 68.7 kg

ha in 1976, respectively. (Tab. 3, Fig. 2) Seeds fallen are estimated at 99.8 kg

ha in 1975 and at 626.2 kg

ha in 1976, and seeds in each year are 2.0% in 1975 and 13.0% of total litter in 1976. Male flower increased from 0.9% in 1975 to 7.5% of total litter in 1976, too. Seeds larger than 10 mm in diameter were recognized almost mature and full seed. Production of full seed are estimated at 62 thousands

ha in 1975 and at 391 thousands

ha in 1976. Increase in weight and diameter of seeds and ratio of seed remained on trees to total seeds are also shown. (Tab. 4, Fig. 3, 4) The total litter fall contained 63.1 kg in N, 6.4 kg in P, 16.5 kg in K, 134.6 kg in Ca and 6.4 kg in Mg in 1975, and 62.7 kg in N, 6.5 kg in P, 19.8 kg in K, 61.7kg in Ca and 6.2 kg

ha in Mg in 1976; those were return to the forest floor. (Tab.5)
