モリシマアカシア林のリターフォール量と被食量

Abstract

和歌山県白浜町 京都大学白浜試験地のモリシマアカシア林で, リターフォール量を1977年, 1978年の2年間調べた。1977年のリターフォール量はhaあたり9, 041kg, 1978年は9, 701kg であった。この大きな値は1977年ではアカシアの葉4, 482kg, さや1, 509kg, 種子496kgと花1, 763kg に, 1978年はアカシァの葉4, 251kg, さや2, 983kg, 種子1, 223kg, 花413kg によった。このリターフォールによって林地に供給される養分量は1977年でhaあたり, 窒素192. 9kg, りん5. 4kg, カリウム32. 6kg, 1978年で窒素197. 4kg, りん5. 3kg, カリウム34. 3kg で, とくに, 窒素が大きな値を示した。虫糞の落下量は1977年でhaあたり78kg, 1978年は171kgで, 被食量は食葉性昆虫の同化効率を20％とすると, 97. 8kgと213. 3kgとなる。一方, トラップ回収時までの減少を25％, 切り落とし量を20％とすると, 被食量は156. 4kg, 341. 2kgとなり, これは落葉量 (新葉量) の3. 5％, 8. 0％に, さらに, 全着葉量の1. 7％, 4. 0％に相当した。

Annual litter fall and primary consumption were studied in a black wattle (Acacia mearnsi=A. mollissima) plantation in the Shirahama Experimental Forest of Kyoto University in Wakayama Prefecture for two years, 1977 and 1978. Annual litter fall in the two years are estimated at 9, 041 kg in 1977 and 9, 701 kg/ha in 1978, respectively. Those high values are attributed to the amounts of leaves, pods and flower of Acacia in 1977, and to the amounts of leaves, pods and seeds in 1978. Annual return of nutrient elements are estimated at 192.9 kg in N, 5.4 kg in P and 32.6 kg/ha in K in 1977, and 197.4 kg in N, 5.3 kg in P and 34.3 kg in K in 1978. The amounts of insect feces are estimated at 78 kg in 1977 and 171 kg/ha in 1978, respectively. Grazing losses (⊿G), on the assumption that assimilation efficiency is 20%, are estimated at 97.8 kg in 1977 and 213.3 kg in 1978, and, furthermore, grazing losses (⊿G″), on the assumption that weight loss on the litter trap is 25% and amount of cutting by feeding behavior is 20%, are estimated at 156.4 kg/ha in 1977 and 341.2 kg in 1978. Those values are equivalent to 3.5% and 8.0% of amount of leaf litter fall, or 1.7% and 4.0% of leaf biomass, respectively.
