酪農地帯の形成過程 (II) : 北海道演習林 (標茶区) をめぐる地域性の研究

Abstract

The Hokkaido Experiment Forestry of Kyoto University is situated in Eastern Hokkaido, where the dairy-farming has developed as the most basic industry and farmers have continuously made pastures from forest lands. The author investigated Iyasaka, the nearest village from our Experiment Forest this time, and made a research on the actual condition of the historical process of the dairy-farming development. The dairy-farming of Iyasaka district has attained to the stage of the specalized dairy-farming since 1965 throughout the stage of the mixed〔dairy-farming, crop farming, forestry etc.〕management. In recent 15 years, this area has been greatly subsidized from the national coffers and has been reorganized to form the "regional structure" of dairy-farming, conducted by the policy of the government. Then the farm household has achieved the enlargement of the scope of the management (the number of the milch cow, the area of the cultivated field and mechanization), but now the farmers have a hard time of the financial difficulty of the farmhouse economics.
