価格分析からみた間伐小径材の市場構造 : 戦後造林の現在への一接近

Abstract

間伐が困難な理由の1つとして小径材の価格水準の低位性が挙げられる。ここでは, 全国3ヶ所の原木市売市場の「相場表」を使用して小径材の価格分析をおこない, 小径材市場の構造的特質の解明を試みた。分析からいえるのは, 建築材を主要な需要として全国統一的な市場が形成されている一般材とは異なり, 小径材市場では地域ごとにまた小径材の間でも異なった価格の変動がみられること。また, その要因は地域的な需要構造の差異, つまり建築材以外に形成されている小径材需要の質的・量的な集積の差にあること, である。その結果, 小径材価格は需要側の要因によってより強く規定され, 低位に規制される市場構造の一端が明らかになった。

Recently thinning in young man-made forest has become very difficult to practise. There are some reasons. One is the low price of thinned log which has the diameter of 10 centimeter and below. However, the character of small size thinned log market has not always been elucidated. This study analyzes the trend of the price of small size log by using price statistics of three wood marketplaces located in Miyazaki, Ehime and Mie prefecture. As a result, the following points were clarified: 1. The price trend of small size log is largely different among those marketplaces. 2. At each marketplaces, the price trend of small size log is different, and it is also different from the price trend of medium size log which has the diameter of 11 centimeter and up. By contrast, the price trend of the latter is similar among each marketplaces. By these analysis, it can be found that the small size log has not the nation-wide but only local market different from medium size log.
