ムラサキオカヤドカリ(甲殻類, 異尾類)の和歌山県白浜町海岸での放仔記録(続報)

Abstract

In summer of 2014, number of individuals of Coenobita purpureus that released larvae at a coast of Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecure, Honshu, Japan was counted daily during the period between July 1 and August 25. Such a reproductive behavior was observed in a small number of individuals (maximal 3 ind./night) in only eight days during the period (in a total of 26 days the number could be counted). Combining with the results obtained in the last year, release of larvae of the present species may not be contributed to increase of the population in this area.

2014年夏季(7月1日–8月25日), 和歌山県白浜町に所在する京都大学瀬戸臨海実験所"南浜"で, ムラサキオカヤドカリが放仔した個体数を調査した. その結果, 悪天候の日が多かったことも影響し, 期間中観察可能だった計26日中のわずか8日でこの繁殖行動が確認され, 1夜に最多で3個体だった. 今年と昨年の結果と併せても, 当該区域での本種の再生産は少なく, 幼生が放出されても個体群は増殖しないだろう.
