dc.description.abstractThe study of the fairy story "Shiroimon no aru Ie" written by Ogawa Mimei has not been advanced, although it is one of his famous works. This paper discusses the importance of the symbols such as gate, street, colors and other motifs in his story by reference to achievements of anthropology and folklore. I will also point out meaning of the concept "the Other World", which is important for interpretation of this story. Moreover, this research will also be the interpretation of Mimei's other works.en
