福島県いわき市産3種のヒドロクラゲ(ヒドロ虫綱, 花クラゲ目)が2011年の大震災後に季節消長が激変

Abstract

Violent change of a seasonal appearance of Sarsia tubulosa, Turritopsis sp., and Leuckartiara hoepplii, that is a pradator of T. sp. was observed by Kitada, H. in Onahama port, Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan after the disastrous earthquake happened in 2011. Before the disaster (2008-2011) a large number of large (2-3 cm in diameter) S. tubulosa appeared from February to March, being most abundantly in March and a small number of small T. sp. appeared in July, then a small number of large T. sp. appeared in August and September. In contrast after the disaster until 2014 a small number of small S. tublosa appeared in only March and a large number of both small and large T. sp. appeared in the period from July to October. In parallel with such a violent change of T. sp., larger (2-3 times: 2-3 cm in height) Leuckartiara hoepplii (pradator of T. sp.) appeared after the disaster.

福島県いわき市小名浜港の定点(アクアマリン福島前)で，サルシアクラゲとベニクラゲ，加えてベニクラゲの捕食者であるカザリクラゲの季節消長について，2008年から2014年まで，ほぼ毎日，北田が目視調査した．その結果，2011年3月11日に勃発した大震災以前は，サルシアクラゲは3月を最多数とし，その前後の2月と4月にも傘高2–3 cmの大型個体が出現し，ベニクラゲは，毎月少数であるが，7月と10月に直径数 mm程度の小型個体，8–9月に傘径1 cmほどの大型個体の出現といった一定の季節消長を示した．しかし，大震災後にはサルシアクラゲの出現個体数は激減し，3月のみに最大個体抜きの出現で少数となった．ベニクラゲでは7–10月にかけての毎月，傘径1 cmほどの大型個体が出現するように変わり，同時に直径数mm 程度の小型個体も出現した．ベニクラゲのこのような激変と並行し，その捕食者であるカザリクラゲは，大震災後には傘高2–3 cm に達する以前の数倍の大きさの個体が出現した.
