Abstract: Egg spawning of Turritopsis sp. (Hydrozoa, Anthomedusae) was studied biologically, using five female medusae collected in Tanabe Bay, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan from August to September in 2015. After 6-14 hours dark treatment, maximally 22 unfertilized eggs (mean diameter 152μm, 138-169μm in range, n = 53) spawned 16-28 minutes after lightning at 25℃ from one individual everyday. An individual, can spawn more than 1000 eggs for 1.5 months until senescence at the most estimate. In these eggs GFP is not found like medusa, and parthenogenesis does not taken place.
和歌山県田辺湾産のニホンベニクラゲTurritopsis sp.(ヒドロ虫綱, 花クラゲ目)の5個体の成熟雌を一定条件で飼育し,放卵に関する生物学的研究を2015年の8月から9月にかけて行った.前日の夕刻から夜間に6-14時間の暗処理を施した後に点灯すると,25℃で16-28分後に最多で22個の未受精卵(平均直径152 μm,幅138-169 μm, n = 53)を毎日産卵した.最大見積もりで,1.5箇月間,毎日,同数(25個)を放卵できたと仮定した場合,老衰に至るまでに1000卵以上産めることになる.この未受精卵にはクラゲの様にGFPはなく,単為発生も起こさなかった.
