Abstract

In 2016, Prof. Takeuchi Tsuguhito and Dr. Iuchi Maho published a large volume of the catalogue entitled Tibetan Texts from Khara-khoto in The Stein Collection of the British library (Studies in Old Tibetan Texts from Central Asia, vol. 2, Tokyo: The Toyo Bunko). In the volume, there are two Tangut fragments containing about 60 lines (Catalogue No. 22, Site No. K.K.II.0303.a.). We identify them as one of the admiration for the Amitabha Buddhas without a title. The fragments have a strong relationship to one 'Tangut' fragment from Khara-khoto in the Stein Collection of the British Library and one 'Chinese' fragment from Khara-khoto in the Kozlov Collection of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts in Russia. In this study, we introduce the contents of the fragments with Tangut texts, translations, and comments and describe the relationship between those fragments. In addition, we deal with the Tangut verb-prefixes and suffixes in the texts which have unique features from the viewpoint of Tangut grammar. In appendix, we also provides the texts, translations, and comments of other small Tangut fragments in the volume.
