| dc.description.abstract | We consider a two dimensional variant of the pancake problem which asks whether an arbitrary ntimes m array can be obtained from an initial array by prefix reversals. We shall show subgroups of symmetric groups generated by prefix reversals on ntimes m dimensional arrays. The alternating group is generated if both n and m are multiples of 4, and the symmetric group is generated otherwise. | en |
