<特集論文 1>HIV陽性者によって「語られなかったこと」-- HIV感染予防をめぐる語りの分析から

Abstract

本論では、HIV 陽性者によるHIV 感染予防に関する語りについて分析する。本論の前半ではHIV 陽性者によって書かれた4冊の本の内容を分析し、後半ではそれらの本の中では「語られなかったこと」について、インタビューを行った「ゲイ」を自認する5人のHIV 陽性者の語りの内容を分析した。この「語られなかったこと」の分析視点は、エイズ施策における公衆衛生的権力、つまりミシェル・フーコーの言うところの生政治とも関わっている。生政治は、HIV/AIDS とともに生きる人々の死と直面する経験を隠蔽し、逆に公衆衛生的予防施策を強化しようとする。HIV 陽性者がどのような経緯でHIV に感染したのか、感染したことによって今までの自分の生き方がどのように変容したのか、そしてその経験を他者とどう共有しケアをするのかという語りは後景へと退き、HIV 感染「予防」の重要性が強調されることになる。特に、1997年にHAART(抗HIV 療法)が導入されるようになって以降、HIV/AIDS は死から遠ざかっていくことになった。死を生に巻き込みながらどのように生きることができるかが、生政治への抵抗のあり方を考える一つの契機となるであろう。

This study is an analysis of the narrative regarding HIV infection prevention by people with HIV. The first half of the study is a content analysis of four books written by people who were HIV positive and the last half is a content analysis of narratives from interviews with five HIV positive "out" gay men. The analysis's perspective of looking at "the unsaid" relates to the power of public health authorities to determine AIDS policy, in other words, what is referred to as "biopolitics" in the work of Michel Foucault. Biopolitics has suppressed the experiences of people who are living with HIV/AIDS and confronting death; on the other hands, it conversely has attempted to strengthen prevention policy. The narratives of HIV positive individuals, such as how they became infected, what they realized by becoming infected, how their previous lives were transformed, and how they are careful about sharing those experiences with others, recede into the background, while the importance of HIV "prevention" receives emphasis. Especially, since the advent of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), HIV/AIDS is ever less closely associated with death. However, thinking about how one may be able to live while embracing death in life may be an opportunity to consider how biopolitics could be resisted.
